I personally take no issue with katedrlls violence, but people who do should take note that the prose of this novel is in-your-face blunt. This is no less true for the villains of the book, William Hamleigh in particular is characterised superbly.

Follett masterfully weaves these stories through political turmoil of 12th century England, creating a relevant and viable world for today’s audience and for generations to come.
